I am learning to love my demons.
I reach for their hand and take them along with me, going about my day.
I can feel them watching me do anything I want to do with an almost funny curiosity.
They shield their dark eyes, as they glimpse the beauty and joy and love they had to watch from the backseat not too long ago.
I show them all the things I enjoy and explain my love for the world and they try their best to grasp the concept, to not fight for the front seat while doing so.
I have to admit they are quite the interesting companions, way too misunderstood, way too underestimated.
And when I get scared they return the favour and take me by my hand, guiding me through the storm they call their home.
